The Phoenix Center is a sober drop-in day program where clients receive counseling, case management, and information and referrals, acquire social skills, and begin to develop the network of supports needed for ongoing recovery. In a low threshold setting where few requirements other than sobriety exist, clients’ self-esteem is gradually restored.

At the Phoenix Center clients receive peer support in a safe encouraging environment that promotes a sober lifestyle and demonstrates by example that treatment works. Newly sober homeless men and women find in the Phoenix Center an alternative to the streets. Clients awaiting placement in one of CASPAR’s residential treatment programs often use the Phoenix Center as a grounding resource and sobriety support prior to admission.

Other clients whose recovery is in jeopardy seek referrals from Phoenix Center staff for treatment interventions. For clients who have relapsed, the Phoenix Center serves as a connection back into the treatment continuum. Court-referred clients participate in a structured treatment series offered weekly at the Phoenix Center.
