ACCESS (A Client Centered Experience Staying Sober) is a twelve bed transitional program for homeless clients located in CASPAR’s Emergency Service Center. It is for those individuals in early recovery from substance abuse. When they enter ACCESS, clients undergo a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to ensure that ACCESS offers the appropriate level of care to meet their needs. Clients play an active role in goal setting and participate in treatment groups, case management, and one-on-one counseling.
ACCESS introduces clients to structured programming, rules and limits, and to the importance of self help as a long term recovery support. Clients work with ACCESS staff to secure placement in a residential treatment program or other sober housing. ACCESS provides a safe, secure environment where clients experience peer support and ongoing treatment until their aftercare placement—treatment or housing—is available.
Upon completion of the program, the majority of ACCESS clients enter long term residential treatment at one of CASPAR’s residential programs or nearby recovery homes.
